Having expected to wake up in the middle of open ocean, I was surprised to wake up in port. It turned out the ship had traveled down the east coast of Kyushu during the night and we were picking up more passengers in the south of Kyushu. As we left the port and headed east we were hoping to catch a glimpse of Sakurajima, a huge volcano near Kagoshima. Unfortunately it was too far inland for us to spot, but we saw Kaimon-dake, and lots of picturesque islands.

By about mid-day though there wasn't much to see anymore so we watched films, played tennis and then in the evening we went to the bar, had a few beers and did some karaoke.
